Gluten Free? No prob. Vegan? No prob.
This recipe is super simple and requires bare minimum effort.
So I started following a recipe for this... but then realised the conversion amounts they gave me were completely off and some ingredients were missing... so I made up my own recipe and it came out just fine. It was definitely gluten free (ie, no stretch bc I didn't buy fancy ingredients to imitate gluten) but also apparently pretty good and would make again. SUCCESS.
Gluten Free Pizza Crust
Yield: 1 pizza crust
7 grams active dry yeast (1 packet)
3/4 cup warm water (110F)
2 tsp sugar
2.5 cups gf all purpose flour
1tsp salt
1tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp olive oil
Heat water up in microwave (about 30 seconds), stir in sugar and yeast.
Allow yeast to bloom for 5-10 minutes (until foamy)
While yeast is proofing, combine flour, salt, garlic powder in a bowl.
Add olive oil and yeast mixture to dry ingredients and mix/knead for 3-4 minutes until completely combined. Can add more water or flour of too dry or wet. The dough shouldn’t be sticky or wet.
Place ball dough in oiled bowl, cover and let rise in a draft free area for at least 30 minutes or until doubled in size. (I left it for around 45 minutes)
Punch air out of dough, use rolling pin to flatten or press into a pan, let rise for another 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 200 C fan forced. (about 425F).
Parbake crust for 4-5 minutes (until it looks bready instead of doughy).
Add sauce/toppings, etc then bake until crust is fully cooked/cheese is bubbly. About 10 minutes.
Enjoy! As always, you can substitute vegan cheese/ toppings to make it suit your needs :)
